New Beginnings

Tomorrow is Labor Day and the last day of our summer. On Tuesday we go back to our school schedule. It is a day of new beginning for all of us. We are in a new house. The kids are playing new sports (football and soccer). Ivelisse is starting in a new school (she calls in intermiddle school) since it is called an elementary school but they treat them and it is set up like a middle school. It houses all the 5th and 6th graders in the county. Ive will have 7 periods this semester and she has PE as her elective this semester. She is not too excited about that part. It will also be new because she will be on her own and me and the Samantha and Zeke will be in the elementary school. I think the kids are ready for school to start and I know they are excited. Samantha is worried about taking her first SOL's this year. I have a some students from last year and some new students so my job will be more demanding. I am excited but also apprehensive. It is a lot of changes and some letting go. I think the letting go bothers me more than the changes. Ive is growing up so fast...I remember 5th grade very clearly. It was the beginning of growing up. I know she is great kid with a good head on her shoulders. It is still hard to see her turn from my little girl to a tweenager. I will be doing a lot of praying and trusting that God will keep us all safe and happy and that we will ease into this new school year.

I remember 5ht grade too. Mrs.DeArmas and her flying fan accident in the middle of the year. We all really bonded as friends that year.

HA!!! I just read Ana's comment and that's EXACTLY what I was going to say! I totally remember 5th grade...wasn't that the year we started "Le Girls Club"? Or was that 6th grade? :) And yes, I do remember that fan accident. Didn't it hit her lips? OUCH!
