I was introduced to Calvin and Hobbes by my good friend Ana. I think it was somewhere around middle school. I remember going to her house and reading her comic books. She had Calvin and Hobbes and Snoopy, if my memory serves me right. When Jake and I started dating, I noticed he had a collection of Calvin and Hobbes and Far side books. Once again I enjoyed reading them. When we moved into Emporia and while I was unpacking, I decided to put all those collections of comic books together in one book shelf. Soon Ive discovered them and started reading them. She then introduced them to Zeke and Samantha during their bedtime reading time. All the kids are now big Calvin and Hobbes fan. We have about 10 of his comic book collections and I think we have read through most of them. The kids enjoy his funny and slightly warped view of the world. They appreciate the good pictures and love to flip through the book and try to "read" it. Ive, on the other hand, loves to read it and appreciates his sarcasm and charm. Samantha made this picture in Kindergarden. I through it was so cute and it actually looks like something Calvin would draw. So for all of you who have never read Calvin and Hobbes....look it up in a bookstore or library you wont be sorry!

Arwen refers to Calvin and Hobbes as the Dinosaur book, because one of the collections has dinosaurs on the cover. She really loves looking at them too.
I think the comic collections we had at our house were Peanuts (Snoopy), Garfield, Mafalda and Calvin and Hobbes. I am glad you kids love them. I'll have to show Arwen the picutre, tell Samantha she draws very nicely. It is amazing how much they improve in a short while.
