Have shoes, will travel!
Weekends are supposed to be a time of rest and relaxation. Yet in our household it seems that they are a continuation of the busyness of the rest of the week. There is always something that needs to accomplished during this time. I look forward to the weekend because we do not have to get up at 5AM. I get to sleep in until 7AM. YIPEE for weekends! The kids are now getting old enough that they can take care of some of their needs in the morning. Ivelisse has a small variety of breakfast items that she can fix for her siblings. She can make oatmeal, poptarts, toast and serve juice or milk. Samantha and Zeke can get their own plates and set the table for their meal. This means that I can sleep in (on the couch). I can still hear for them and keep an eye on them but I can be laying down half asleep. They usually watch cartoons and let me rest until about 8:30 or so. It is amazing to me how fast they are growing. For years I have been saying that having kids so close together was a choice. We wanted our kids to be able to play together and go through around the same stages at the same time. I have always said: It is hard while they are little but eventually they will get to the point when I will be able to say "put your shoes on we are leaving". We have reacher that point...the kids now can get ready without my help. Have shoes....Will travel!!!!!
