Surprise Party!

I have never had or planned a surprise party for anyone I know. Well this weekend was my first! Jake turned 29 and I decided to throw him a little surprise party. I emailed his family in Roanoke and arranged for them to come and celebrate with us. The kids created posters for their daddy and bought him so gifts. I ordered a cake and managed to hide it in a friends house until the party. I planned the menu (catfish al ajillo, mashed potatoes, rolls and mediteranean salad). All in all we had a great time! Jake figured out that his mom and dad were coming (the kids have a hard time keeping a secret) but the meal and the cake and his brother's family coming was all a surprise. It was fun to have everyone come here and be able to host the family get together. Jake was really surprised and it felt good to do something special for him. He is a wonderful father and husband!
